The law normally requires people who offer financial products to give information to investors before they invest. This information is designed to help investors make an informed decision.

If you are a wholesale investor under the definition of that term in clause 3 of Part 1 Schedule 1 of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, the usual rules do not apply to offers of financial products made to you. As a result, you may not receive a complete and balanced set of information.

You will also have fewer other legal protections for these investments. Ask questions, read all documents carefully, and seek independent financial advice before committing yourself.

Proven private equity methods applied by an experienced team to a unique region of New Zealand

Key Features:

  • A proven Private Equity solution for a unique, economically-diverse region of New Zealand.
  • An experienced Team with a track record of PE success across Australasia.
  • An appropriate solution for regional businesses and investors in these times of both challenge and particular opportunity.
  • A clear focus on results, growth in the provinces and creating a sustainable legacy.

The Awa Private Equity Limited Partnership Fund is the brainchild of our founder, David Bennett. David, together with his wife Marion, established and built Pacific Helmets NZ Limited in Whanganui. Pacific Helmets designs and manufactures specialised safety helmets mostly used by emergency services. Over the last 40 years, through economic peaks and troughs, the company has grown its New Zealand based staff to almost 100, and exports helmets to some 90 countries.

Whilst leading Pacific Helmets, David experienced first-hand the challenges faced by small to mid-sized businesses operating in provincial New Zealand. David’s desire to support these outstanding regional businesses inspired Mike Bradley and Tim Russell, both experienced PE fund managers, to work alongside David to create Awa Private Equity, a fund focused on delivering PE solutions to a region of New Zealand they all knew well.

The disruptions of the last three years only served to strengthen their resolve. The Awa PE Team, consisting of proven PE leaders, business owners and experienced investors, share the vision for investing in “Awa’s backyard” - the central and lower North Island. Together, the Team has established the Awa Private Equity Limited Partnership Fund, enabling investors to contribute to a number of cities, town and regions, all important to New Zealand as a whole, benefit from the value upside and make a measurable impact. Ever mindful of Environmental, Social and Governance principles, the Team will apply a quadruple bottom line balancing the cultural, social, environmental, and financial impacts of the investments it makes. Above all, the fund manager will aim to deliver industry standard returns to LPs.

With your support, the Awa Private Equity Limited Partnership Fund will work with local business owners and their management teams at a range of different stages, namely, the need for growth capital, capital for strategic initiatives, and helping businesses whose owners have decided to exit.

The fund offers investors who share the Team’s vision of a sustainable investment approach, without compromising returns, a unique opportunity to participate in the growth and success of diverse businesses across this significant region.

Details of the Awa Private Equity Limited Partnership Fund offer are set out in both a Pitch Deck and full Information Memorandum which can be found in the documents tab.
