The opportunity exists for wholesale investors to purchase up to 2,000,000 units in Origin Capital Fund 2 Limited Partnership.

The units have been progressively called, and as of January 2023, 294,906 units had been called and paid in at a value of $1/unit, with another 234,330 ($1/unit) due immediately following the successful purchase. The purchaser will also be responsible for payment of the remaining units (1,470,094) at a price of $1/unit when they are called.

Origin Capital Fund 2 is a private equity fund dedicated to investing exclusively in the New Zealand kiwifruit sector. In July 2022, the Fund achieved its final close, with $42m raised from wholesale investors wanting exposure to the industry. To date, the Fund has invested in one SunGold orchard and Zespri shares, with $30.9m of uncalled capital available to deploy.

The Fund is managed by Origin Capital Partners Management Limited, a specialist funds management company based out of Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. The directors have extensive industry and governance experience including acting as the Manager for Origin Capital Fund 1 Limited Partnership - New Zealand's first private equity fund dedicated to investing in the kiwifruit sector. Origin Capital Fund 1 raised $85m from wholesale investors in 2021 and currently owns 102ha. of the SunGold variety. The directors also have extensive interests across the entire kiwifruit supply chain including; post-harvest, orchard ownership and Zespri.
