Fund strategy

This opportunity is for ‘wholesale investors’ to express interest in a feeder fund into a global private equity buyout fund run by a legendary global manager in the space, that follows a thematic and sector-based approach based on what the underlying manager sees as key trends and drivers of secular growth. The current themes of focus include automation, big data, digitisation, e-commerce, sustainability, and urbanisation.

The expected target size of the underlying fund will target €20 billion.

The underlying manager will primarily seek to make control and co-control equity investments in mid-to-large sized companies with attractive market positions, significant potential for revenue and earnings growth, strong cash flows and a solid platform that can retain and attract high-quality management. It will primarily focus on investing in its core European markets and will also seek to make investments in the US, primarily within the healthcare, technology and business services sectors. It may also selectively explore opportunities outside of the core geographies for investments, where it can leverage its previous transaction experience and sector knowledge across countries as well as the extensive network.

This strategy has multiple iterations, with a long track record for potential investors to consider.

The investment is into an unregistered managed investment scheme structured as an unlisted Australian unit trust.

Fund objectives

The Reachalts' feeder is targeting gross returns of 20-25% p.a. (net of fees IRR of 14-19% p.a.). Historically, the underlying fund series have generated a gross (i.e. before fees) IRR of approximately 42% and a gross multiple on invested capital of 2.6x based on data up to 30 June 2022.
