The law normally requires people who offer financial products to give information to investors before they invest. This requires those offering financial products to have disclosed information that is important for investors to make an informed decision. The usual rules do not apply to this offer if you are a person who comes within Schedule1, clause 3(2)(a)-(c) or 3(3)(a)-(b)(ii) (inclusive) of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013. This includes where the amount invested upfront by the investor (plus any other investments the Investor has already made in the financial products) is $750,000 or more. If you fall within Schedule 1, clause 3 of the FMCA as a result of this exclusion, you may not receive a complete and balanced set of information. You will also have fewer other legal protections for this investment. Investments of this kind are not suitable for retail investors. Ask questions, read all documents carefully, and seek independent financial advice before committing yourself.

Icehouse Ventures are New Zealand’s most active and respected early-stage venture investment firm. Syndex have partnered with IV for the raise of their latest fully subscribed $30m Seed Fund, giving our accredited wholesale investors the opportunity to gain access and exposure to a portfolio of NZ’s leading technology startups.

Introduction to Seed Fund 4: Optimism around New Zealanders’ ability to found globally significant technology companies is being well validated. In the last year alone, Tradify and Kami exited for ~$300m, immense capital raises into Substack, Supabase, Nuro, Crimson and Halter were led by top-tier VCs, and ecosystem bellwether Rocket Lab continued its rise and rise.

Big companies come from small companies, and Icehouse Ventures is raising a fourth $30m Seed Fund to invest in the next vintage of early-stage tech startups founded by New Zealanders. With over 370 startup investments since 2004, $500m funds under management, a team of 27 and its deep reach into the ecosystem, IV has the time and scale based advantages to find and access the best early-stage opportunities which will emerge over the next several years.

Building on the momentum, learnings and performance of earlier funds, Seed Fund 4 is led by the same team who established and executed IV’s previous Seed Funds (notably joined by founder of Allbirds Tim Brown). These earlier funds have been among the first investors in standout companies including Halter, Sharesies, Mint Innovation, Basis, OpenStar, Tradify, Ternary Kinetics, Tracksuit and many others.

Seed Fund 4’s $30m target has been fully subscribed, and it is now accepting oversubscription ahead of its final close. The minimum investment is $50k, drawn down in annual tranches of 25%.
